A Voice Full of Roots
Amber Kaye was first introduced to music on the London, Ohio horse farm where she grew up surrounded by the influences of bluegrass and country music.
Her songwriting dates back to her earliest childhood where she cut her chops playing to entertain family and friends. Throughout this time, she honed her skills on piano until she was gifted her first guitar. The relative passing along the guitar also handed down the music of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd and other great musicians who influenced her early playing and set the stage for future accomplishments.
The sounds of Hank Williams and Bill Monroe were calling, and she took a guitar spot in a bluegrass band. She also spent time on the upright bass/vocals for several other bands. Her voice is full of roots from across the musical spectrum & should not be missed.
Her current project is the Newground Bluegrass Band where she plays upright bass, vocal lead and harmonies. The Newground Band allows her to "soak in" sounds of Del McCoury, Alison Krauss, Vassar Clements, Rhonda Vincent, John Hartford, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, Larry Sparks, Bill Monroe, Hank Williams and many, many more.
